Halloumi is a robust and versatile white cheese that is delicious enough to eat as is and ideal for frying.
Fried halloumi is absolutely delicious and moreish, it is the perfect side dish that will complement most vegetarian, seafood and meat dishes and will transform any salad it is added to.
125 grams halloumi
1 tablespoon olive oil
Wash the halloumi to remove the brine and excess salt, then cut into 1 cm thick portions. Heat oil in a non-stick fry pan, when the oil is hot place the Halloumi pieces in and cook on a high heat for approximately 2 minutes on each side or until a lovely golden brown colour. Once cooked remove from heat.
